Big Nate started as a web comic, created by Lincoln Peirce. Big Nate is the story of an 11 year old boy who is 4.5 feet tall, and gets in loads of trouble. His book says it best with its name "Big Nate - In A Class By Himself" he truly is a great character. This web comic found a large following, and was picked up by Harper Collins Publishing. Harper Collins Publishing approached World Leaders Entertainment (who then contracted theREDspace) in late February 2010 to build a website for Big Nate that would be visually appealing, while maintaining navigability and offering fun games to increase site traffic. theREDspace was up for the task, quickly and effectively building the website utilizing Flash games integrated within Drupal. theREDspace programmers were able to build these flash games for Big Nate while building the architecture of the site simultaneously. The timing for the project worked out very well, launching in a timely manner and has had a great community response. The site includes sections for the book, games, videos, an author section, a link to the comic strip, community testimonials and a login system that involves signing up for the author's Big Nate updates.
